The NHSScotland estate is large and diverse, serving every community in Scotland. This combined asset is worse around £5bn, and requires considerable resources in its planning, operation, management, maintenance and renewal. This makes the built estate a sustainability priority for the Scottish Government and NHSScotland seeking to optimise its efficiency.
The varied size, location, function and condition of NHSScotland buildings also has an impact on their energy and natural resource use, with consequent effects on CO2 emissions. HFS provides a range of energy and climate change services to all Boards.
